VISA Power plans to set up mega power projects of 1,000 MW each. These projects will be commissioned close to fuel sources in eastern and central India to reduce logistics and generation costs, achieve economies of scale and qualify for Mega Power Project incentives. This will translate into the competitive supply of electricity to industrial and household consumers in North and West India, which are suffering from significant peak shortages ranging from 10-20%.
VISA Power is also leveraging its Group’s knowledge and experience of the international coal business to commission a port based environment friendly plant in Gujarat.
In line with the Group’s vision to climb the value chain, VISA Power will establish itself in the power generation business and progressively integrate into the downstream transmission and distribution businesses, completing the value chain and reaching the end-consumer.
